When I came to China, I packed a two pound box of baking soda. “Two pounds of baking soda,” you might ask or possibly just state incredulously.

Baking soda is incredibly useful! I use it everyday!

I make deodorant and toothpaste out of it, I use it to bake soda bread, I use it with laundry soap, I use it to clean the bathroom.

I make small chemical reactions with the vinegar that I also own.

Baking soda is wonderful.

That’s all.

  1. I am pretty sure it is mined in Wyoming!

I agree with this entire post. I use it to scrub my work uniform and clean our coffee pot.

Also, we had some clear plastic cups that were permanently tea-colored, and I just said they needed some scrubbing. My mother disagreed with me. I poured a pinch of baking soda in them, scrubadubdub, and they were clean and no longer tea-colored. MAGIC.

I also got tired of my emergency deodorant melting in my car, so for a while I just kept a little plastic container of baking soda and cornstarch.
